Prior to registering for this certification course, we highly recommend that you take a basic pistol class first.

The Covered 6 Carrying Concealed Weapon (CCW) training course is required by the Ventura County Sheriff Department in order to obtain a CCW in Ventura County, California. In this (16) hour course students will learn the required training in firearm safety and the law of the permissible use of a firearm. We also cover drawing from a concealed holster, weapon selection, use of force options, and then complete the mandatory CCW live-fire qualification.

This is a (16) hour course. The first (8) hours will be a self study online portion on the Covered 6 Institute LMS platform where you will earn a certificate of completion. This MUST be completed prior to attending the (8) hour in person qualification training day. Instructions will be sent to you after your purchase of this course.

This class is for people who have applied for a concealed carry permit through the Ventura County Sheriffs Office and have received official documentation that you need to take the approved course and range qualification.
